Meet the Owners

Family loving care — in the truest sense of the words.

We are Peter and Cleofe Obaldo, both Bachelor-prepared Registered Nurses with over 30 years of combined experience — and both of us are still actively practicing. After years of caring for seniors in hospitals and other settings, we opened Comfort Living as the kind of home we wished existed for our own family: small, warm, and dignified. Where the door is opened with a smile. Where dinner is something you sit down to, not something you're served.

You won't reach a call center. You'll reach us. Our caregivers are at the home each day — and we coordinate with them daily, tracking each resident's well-being personally. When something changes, you hear from a nurse — not a manager — because we read clinical signs early and bridge to your healthcare team.

What Families Say

Real words from real families.

★★★★★

"Thank you Comfort Living for taking care of our mom for almost 7 years with her Alzheimer's Dementia to the end. The last 11 months she was bed bound, and we had this conversation with the owner that mom didn't have a significant skin breakdown during that time."

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions families ask us first.

What kind of home is Comfort Living?

We are a private senior group home in Virginia Beach — a residential home, not a licensed medical facility. We provide supportive care: a warm home, meals, companionship, and assistance with daily activities the way family members would, for up to four residents. Our caregivers work alongside your loved one's healthcare team — physicians, home health, hospice, family — as the home where they live, and the bridge between everyone involved in their care.

How many residents do you welcome?

A maximum of four residents — never more. Keeping the home small is the heart of how we know each resident as family.

Do you welcome residents on hospice?

Yes. We are hospice-friendly. The hospice agency provides the medical care; we provide the home, the meals, and the surrounding life. Residents can stay with us through end-of-life with their hospice team coming to them.

What is included in the monthly rate?

Our $4,500–$7,500 monthly rate is all-inclusive: private or shared room, three home-cooked meals plus snacks, family-style support with daily routines and companionship, housekeeping, laundry, activities, and ongoing coordination with your loved one's healthcare team.

Can my loved one stay with you long-term?

In most cases, yes. Because we welcome hospice and our owners read clinical signs early, residents typically stay with us — with their healthcare team and hospice provider coming to them when needs evolve.
